Position title
Head of Finance Carbon Project Developer | Fully Remote
Description

Accountancy Capital is working exclusively with a venture-backed, climate-focused business that helps nature-based carbon project developers deliver higher-integrity carbon credits at scale. Backed by leading climate-focused venture investors and having already closed a Series A round, the company is now gearing up for its Series B, and is looking to bring in a senior finance hire to help get it there.

Why This Role

The business operates a freestanding finance structure: routine bookkeeping and accounts preparation sit with an outsourced accounting firm, freeing this hire to focus squarely on the commercial and strategic side of finance — forecasting, fundraising support, board reporting, and financial leadership across a team spread across multiple countries and time zones.

You'll effectively be the finance function's senior voice, reporting into the CEO, with real scope to shape how finance operates as the company scales through its next funding round.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

Driving budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight for a fully remote, internationally distributed organisation
Leading on Series B fundraising readiness — data room, investor materials, and financial modelling
Managing the relationship with the outsourced accounting provider and ensuring reporting accuracy
Introducing stronger financial controls and management information as the business matures
Working closely with the CEO and leadership team on commercial and strategic decisions
Preparing board packs and supporting investor communications

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

A finance leader (Head of Finance, FC, or FD level) with hands-on experience in a venture-backed, high-growth environment
Direct involvement in a previous institutional raise (Series A or B) — this is essential
Confidence operating solo in finance, without a large internal team, and experience managing outsourced finance/accounting providers
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, given the fully remote, globally distributed team structure
Carbon markets, climate tech, or sustainability sector knowledge is a bonus, but not a requirement — the priority is proven scale-up finance and fundraising experience
Based remotely, with flexibility to travel to London periodically (roughly monthly or quarterly) for in-person meetings

Job Benefits

The Package

£90,000–£120,000 depending on experience
Fully remote role
A genuine opportunity to shape the finance function of a mission-driven business ahead of a major fundraise
