We are a fast-growing Search Marketing Agency based in Central London, working with an exciting portfolio of UK and international clients. Having achieved rapid year-on-year growth, we are now seeking to strengthen our financial leadership by appointing a Part-Time Finance Director.
This role will provide strategic financial direction, hands-on oversight of reporting and cash flow, and guidance to support our scaling ambitions.
As Part-Time Finance Director, you will work closely with the Founder/Managing Director and leadership team, providing both strategic insight and operational financial control. You will ensure the agency has the systems, reporting, and funding structures in place to support sustainable growth and profitability.
Advise the Board and senior team on financial strategy, funding, and long-term planning.
Support decisions around pricing models, profitability, and client contract structures.
Provide commercial insight to help scale the agency effectively.
Oversee preparation of management accounts, cash flow forecasting, and monthly reporting.
Monitor margins, utilisation rates, and client profitability.
Implement KPI dashboards to give visibility on performance.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax, and HMRC obligations.
Review and optimise financial processes, systems, and controls.
Work with the existing finance function (internal or outsourced) to strengthen reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Advise on funding options for future expansion, including working capital management.
Provide input into potential M&A or investment opportunities.
Support contract negotiations and large client tenders from a financial perspective.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Proven experience as a Finance Director, ideally within digital, marketing, media, or professional services sectors.
Track record of working with SMEs or scale-ups, ideally in high-growth environments.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link financial performance to business strategy.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
Previous experience in an agency setting (digital, media, creative, or marketing).
Understanding of SaaS/retainer-based business models and subscription revenue.
Experience supporting companies through fundraising or exit planning.
1 day per week commitment, with flexibility to attend ad-hoc meetings during key financial events (e.g. year-end, funding discussions).
Competitive day rate or pro-rata salary, aligned to experience.
Hybrid working available; regular attendance at the Central London office required.
