The Role

Accountancy Capital is recruiting a Management Accountant for an established, growing publishing and media business based in the City of London, close to Moorgate. • Process monthly payroll and handle related journals, reconciliations and liaison with payroll providers or HMRC as needed
  • Support the annual budgeting process and regular reforecasts, building and maintaining the underlying models
  • Manage the accounting for two sets of accounts, keeping reporting consistent and accurate across both
  • Work with budget holders across the business, giving them financial insight and supporting better commercial decisions
  • Help with year-end preparation and audit support, providing schedules and responding to auditor queries
  • Find and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and make the finance function more efficient

  • Experience of cash management and cash flow reporting
  • Hands-on payroll processing experience, or a clear willingness to take it on
  • Exposure to budgeting and forecasting, with confidence building and maintaining financial models
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with cloud accounting or ERP systems would be an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
  • A collaborative, values-led approach. The business places real weight on cultural fit alongside technical ability
  • Background from any sector is welcome; publishing or media experience is not required
