Accountancy Capital is recruiting a Financial Controller for an established, FCA-regulated wealth management firm based in the City of London. This is a broad, hands-on FC role reporting directly to the CFO, with full ownership of the finance function’s day-to-day operation in a regulated environment.

The Role

You will own the month-end and year-end close, statutory accounts preparation, and the firm’s regulatory reporting obligations to the FCA. This is not a role where regulatory work sits with a separate compliance team and finance simply feeds in numbers — the Financial Controller prepares and owns the regulatory returns, monitors the capital position, and acts as the finance function’s point of contact for regulatory matters.

• Full ownership of month-end close, management accounts and the board reporting pack
• Preparation of FCA regulatory returns via RegData, including MIFIDPRU reporting
• Supporting the ICARA process, including capital and liquidity adequacy monitoring
• CASS awareness — working alongside the oversight function on client money reconciliation processes
• Statutory accounts preparation under FRS 102 and management of the external audit
• Cash flow forecasting, treasury management and payment controls
• Managing and developing a small finance team
• Working with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting and process improvement, including finance systems and automation
