Position title
Private Client Tax Manager
Description

London or Thames Valley (hybrid) • £60,000–£75,000 + benefits • Permanent

Accountancy Capital is recruiting a Private Client Tax Manager for a growing, partner-led practice with an established base of entrepreneurs, business owners, landlords and high-net-worth families. The private client team is expanding on the back of sustained advisory demand — this is a role with genuine advisory content, not a compliance factory.
The Role

Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients — self-assessment review, complex returns and HMRC correspondence
Advisory work across capital gains tax planning, residence and domicile, inheritance tax and trusts
Advising owner-managers on remuneration planning, dividend strategy and business disposals alongside the corporate team
Property tax matters for landlord clients, including incorporation reviews and CGT on disposal
Supervising and reviewing the work of tax seniors and assistants
Supporting partners on new client proposals, with a clear route to Senior Manager and beyond

Responsibilities

About You

CTA qualified, or ATT qualified with substantial private client experience and CTA in progress (study support available)
Current private client experience within practice, managing your own portfolio
Confident advising clients directly — in person, by phone and in writing — on planning matters, not just compliance
Experience reviewing the work of junior staff and managing workflow to deadline
Familiarity with CCH, Digita or similar personal tax software

Trust tax experience, non-domicile and residence advisory work, or exposure to HMRC enquiries and disclosures would all strengthen an application.
