We are a flourishing and entrepreneurial property investment business based in London, with a growing portfolio and an ambitious outlook. We are now seeking a competent and motivated Financial Controller to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in strengthening our financial operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on SME Financial Controller with experience in the landlord or property investment sector. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, manage a small finance team, and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
You’ll drive improvements in financial processes, reporting, and internal controls—supporting strategic decision-making through timely, accurate, and insightful financial data.
Manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations
Oversee all aspects of financial management including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and compliance
Work closely with the Finance Director and Executive Team to deliver meaningful financial insight and support commercial strategy
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
Lead the modernisation of financial systems, processes, and internal controls
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax filings, and audit processes
Provide financial oversight and analysis for property acquisitions, investments, and ongoing portfolio performance
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation in reporting and transaction processing
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Strong experience in the property investment or landlord sector
Proven track record as a Financial Controller in a small to medium-sized business
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and commercially astute
Experience leading and developing a small finance team
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and relevant property tax/accounting standards
Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with changing priorities
