We are a fast-growing financial services firm located in the heart of Greenwich, London, offering innovative investment and wealth management solutions to a broad client base. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance function and support strategic decision-making at a senior level.
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the business, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the CFO (or Managing Director), you will play a key role in financial planning, risk management, and supporting the firm’s commercial objectives.
Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring high standards of financial reporting and compliance.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting in line with FCA requirements.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning.
Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
Support strategic planning and provide financial insights to senior management.
Monitor and report on key financial KPIs.
Implement systems and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional within the financial services sector (ideally 5+ years).
Strong understanding of FCA regulations and compliance.
Proficient in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Experience in a regulated financial services firm (investment management, wealth management, fintech, etc.).
Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
Familiarity with risk and governance frameworks.
