We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join a well-established organisation based in the Falkland Islands. This is a senior finance leadership role responsible for managing all financial operations, ensuring robust financial control, and supporting strategic decision-making in a unique international environment.

Financial Management & Reporting
Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and board reporting packs
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Monitor financial performance and provide analysis and commentary to senior leadership
Financial Control & Compliance
Maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulatory requirements
Oversee audit processes and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors
Manage tax, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance
Operational Finance Leadership
Supervise and develop the local finance team
Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities
Support operational and commercial teams with financial insight and decision support
Strategic & Business Support
Provide financial modelling and analysis to support strategic initiatives
Partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation
Support capital investment decisions and business growth initiatives
Contribute to continuous improvement and organisational development
Essential
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent)
Minimum 5+ years’ relevant experience, including financial control or senior finance roles
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
Experience managing financial operations in a complex or international environment
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to a remote location
Desirable
Experience in remote, international, or overseas territories
Background in industry sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, government, utilities, or services
Experience improving finance systems and processes
Leadership experience managing and developing teams
