About accountant roles
Management and financial accountant roles are the engine of most finance teams: the month-end journals and reconciliations, the management accounts, the year-end file for the auditors and the analysis behind the numbers. They are also the most common route to Finance Manager and Financial Controller.
Employers usually look for a qualified or part-qualified accountant with experience of the systems they use. Our Management Accountant salary guide and Financial Accountant salary guide show current pay, and our career paths guide explains where the roles lead.
Interim, part-time and fractional work
Not every finance role is full-time and permanent. Interim assignments cover a departure, parental leave, a year-end or a systems project and often start within days; part-time and fractional roles give a growing business qualified support for one to three days a week. See our pages on interim finance roles and fractional finance roles.
How we work with finance candidates
When you apply for a role or register with us, a consultant reviews your CV against the brief and any other roles that might suit you. If there is a fit, we call you to talk through the role, the business and the package before anything is sent to the employer, and we never share your details without your agreement. We then prepare you for interview, pass on feedback and handle the offer conversation with you.
