Accountancy Capital is proud to support a well-established SME based in Oxfordshire. With ambitious plans for expansion and process maturity, the business is seeking a commercially-minded Part-Time Finance Director to provide high-level oversight and guidance as it navigates its next growth cycle.
This privately-owned company has recently undergone operational changes and is investing in stronger financial infrastructure to support its scaling ambitions. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in sharpening the financial strategy and preparing the business for future capital activity.
You will act as a strategic financial partner to the board, balancing hands-on leadership with forward-thinking advisory work. This position requires someone capable of refining internal reporting, improving control frameworks, and guiding capital allocation decisions—all within a lean SME environment.
Financial Leadership: Drive financial planning and forecasting cycles, ensuring robust budgeting and strategic alignment with business goals.
Management Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely management accounts with insights for operational and strategic decisions.
Cash & Funding Oversight: Manage cash flow projections and advise on funding strategies (debt/equity) where required.
Systems & Controls: Enhance internal controls, financial systems, and reporting tools to improve efficiency and clarity.
Board & Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare financial dashboards and updates for shareholders, lenders, and the board.
Team Mentorship: Support development of the in-house finance function or external accountancy partners.
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with proven experience at Finance Director level in SMEs.
Strong financial acumen, with the ability to advise on long-term strategy and day-to-day operations.
Prior exposure to funding rounds, growth planning, or turnaround projects is a plus.
Clear communicator who can work independently and add immediate value.
Preference for professionals already working in a fractional or portfolio FD/CFO capacity
