Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial legislation, charity accounting regulations (SORP), and best practices.
• Coordinate the annual budget-setting process and periodic forecasting in collaboration with departmental heads.
• Manage the annual audit process and relationship with external auditors.
• Support the Director of Finance and SMT with strategic planning, financial modelling, and scenario analysis.
• Maintain and develop internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to ensure efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring accurate allocation and reporting in line with donor requirements.
• Provide financial insight to fundraising proposals, grant applications, and donor reporting.
• Oversee payroll, VAT returns, Gift Aid, and other statutory submissions.
