Description

Accountancy Capital is recruiting a senior finance professional for a confidential client. The client is an ambitious, purpose-driven technology services business based in the City of London. The role is one day a week in the office, and we are flexible on which day that is.

The business is growing and wants an experienced finance leader who can take ownership of its financial direction. You will work closely with the leadership team on strategy and funding. You will also develop a small, capable finance team so it can handle more over time.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

  • Setting financial strategy alongside the founders and senior leadership, and helping shape plans for the next stage of growth.
  • Managing the funding position, including cash planning, runway, investor reporting and conversations with capital providers.
  • Understanding the economics of a people-driven services business, such as delivery margins, resourcing and overheads, and turning that understanding into better decisions.
  • Taking a leading role in corporate development activity, including acquisitions, investment rounds and other transactions.
  • Mentoring the in-house finance team and strengthening its processes, controls and reporting.
Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • A chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who has already held a senior finance leadership role.
  • Direct experience of M&A or other transactions. This is essential.
  • A background in scaling businesses, ideally in technology, consulting or professional services.
  • The confidence to act as a sounding board to leadership while still doing hands-on work.
  • Enjoyment of developing people and building a finance function.
  • The ability to be in the City of London office one day a week.
