As we continue to grow, we are seeking a commercially-minded and hands-on Financial Controller to join our senior leadership team.

Role Overview

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the business, ensuring compliance, driving efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role is pivotal to maintaining our financial health and supporting sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
  • Analyse financial data to support business planning and operational performance.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC regulations.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
  • Monitor and manage company cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
  • Oversee financial systems, processes, and internal controls, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Support the Managing Director and senior management with financial insights and strategic input.
  • Manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a financial controller or senior finance role, preferably within a service-based or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
