As they continue to expand, they seek a skilled and dedicated Financial Accountant to join their finance team and support their financial operations.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial integrity.
- Audit: Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and other statutory filings.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Fixed Assets: Manage the fixed asset register, including capital expenditure tracking, depreciation calculations, and disposals.
- Financial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis and support to the management team, including variance analysis and financial performance reviews.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support various ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as required by the Finance Director.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
